We have three domain controllers, the primary and two secondary domain controllers, Once we create group policies on the primary domain controller show to only to group policy console on the other domain controllers but they cannot be shown on sysvol folders, client computers as well cannot get group policy settings from the domain. Error message below:Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered: The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\domain name\SysVol\domain name\Policies\{1C2E6929-A734-45C9-92A9-166D25A74

  2. Windows 2016 Domain - Group Policies not applying to OU

So we have a domain and have various group policies (some apply to computer settings, some apply to user settings)

If we link a computer group policy directly to the root of the domain, policy works fine and everything is great.

If we take the same policy, remove it from the domain root, move the computer account to a sub OU and then link the group policy to that OU, the policy no long works.

There is no security filtering enabled, using "Authenticated Users" as scope.

If we run the Group Policy Results wizard, it only shows policies that are being applied in the root domain. No group policies located in OU show up.

No errors are showing besides a message saying "fast link detected"

If we run the Group Policy Modeling and specify user and computer, it shows the group policy should be applied.

Have tried adding "Domain Computers" also as a scope, same results.

Don't have any "Loopback Processing" enabled on any of the parent group policies.

    I'm stuck!

Build kit not fully applying to 2012 Domain Controller Server

We have a 2012 R2 Domain Controller + Member Server and we are testing the 2.3.0 build kit both L1 and L2.

We have successfully deployed the build kit on the Member Server, and were able to verify all settings utilizing the registry and secedit to output and confirm settings not in the registry.

However, we're having an issue verifying settings on the domain controller. All of the registry settings have verified successfully. But, when we run the command 'secedit /export /cfg C:\temp\test.inf' to verify
the security settings on the domain controller we get a different result. None of the settings from the build kit are transferring to this.

We have also found that we can verify the security settings/account policies by checking Local Policy on the Member Server. Opening GPEdit on the Member Server seems to copy settings from Group Policy. But
opening GPEdit on the domain controller shows a Local Group Policy, but none of the settings are set.

Further testing from a 'GPResult /v /SCOPE computer' reveals another difference. Member servers say the local policy is applied, but Domain Controllers say the local policy is empty and therefore filtered.
In both Member Server and Domain Controller cases it says all Group Policies are being applied.

We are trying to either A) Find a way to verify these Security Settings/Account Policies are being applied, or B) Find out why the Security Settings/Account Policies subsection of the Group Policy isn't being
    applied.

    Group Policy Client Services

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. May I know, which version of Windows is installed on your computer?
    2. Is your system connected to Domain network?

If you are not on a domain network you can try the troubleshooting steps provided below.

    Method 1: Winsock reset.

    1. Start your PC in safe mode.
    2. Once you are on the same mode.
    3. Search for Command Prompt on the Start Menu.
    4. Right click and Run as Administrator.
    5. Type in netsh winsock reset
on the command prompt and hit enter.
    6. Reboot the computer and check.

If you still face the issue you can try the suggestion

How to fix "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon. Access denied." error?
Posted by Mohammad Iqubal, However from this article I suggest you not to delete the data, you can try to move
    it to a safe location.

If you still face the issue, reply to this post with more information.
