Before you all jump on the horn and say, "SLI IS DEAD!" Yes, I know and I understand completely but the games I still play do benefit from a dual GPU setup such as GTAV and I think Cyberpunk 2077 does as well.

I've been watching and waiting for either the 5900x or the 6900XT to become available for months but I see NVlinked 2080ti's pretty much matching the performance and everything I'd need to upgrade on that end is available and getting cheaper every day.

Next year I'd assume it would be easier to grab the CPU/GPU I actually want unless someone knows when the scalpocalypse will be over.

    :)

  2. NVLink 2080ti's vs 3080 or 3090?

I've already got a 2080ti and I've heard NVlinked they would out perform the 3090 or at least be very close in performance.

I do understand it's best to stick to one GPU so in that case waiting for the rumored 3080ti's would be a safe bet since the 3090 only outdoes the 3080 by 15% which isn't worth the extra $700.

    What's your opinions?

    NVLink 2080ti's vs 3080 or 3090?

Why buy a 3090. when it is only slightly more powerful than a 3080 (for gaming)? If you have the budget, go for it.

Why not replace the motherboard with one that supports NVLink? (SLI is old hat.) The Zen 3 / X570 combination isn't flush with PCI-E lanes, but as it supports PCI-E 4.0, and the 30X0 cards are also PCI-E 4.0, running two slots at X8 shouldn't limit performance at all.

How would you attach an AIO CPU cooler to the graphics card? Duct tape probably won't be sufficient.*Smile

I used a purpose-made AIO eVGA cooler on a Maxwell Titan. Its performance was no better than the original air cooler. And then, the pump began to fail.
