    Growing number of files in Temp folder can not be removed


    I am running Windows 10 64 Bit on Dell Laptop since 2015 with a 500 GB nominal hard drive. It now is being used at about 96 GB of storage. I need to double check, but think that the laptop has 8 GB of RAM. On 2/14/2022 the Windows 10 system updated to 21H1. OS Build 19043.1526. Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0. Since that time, starting 2/18/2022, the number of files and MB in the Temp folder is growing and I have been unable to remove the temporary files using 1 Windows Administrative Disk Clean Up tool; 2 Settings/System/Storage/Free Up Space or 3 McAfee Live Safe Quic

    Temp files growing

    Over the last 2 weeks, the temp files continue to grow. Ccleaner and disc clean-up wont remove them. I have 3.8Gb of files and it is growing daily. Can any one help please

    Temporary Files will not Delete in Windows 10 Creator

    Hi, I performed the steps that you suggested and a large number of files (10+ MB) were deleted from the prefetch (the temp and %temp% folders had only a few files). However, when I went back into Disk Cleanup, the temp files were still there and now it
    has increased to 15.5MB and growing.

    Hi Hector,

    The temp folder provides work space for programs. Yes they can be deleted. We suggest that you follow the steps provided by Sangeeta Sarkar on how to delete Temp files on this

    link    . You may also type in the search box Disk Cleanup and hit enter. It will evaluate your disk and give you a list of folders sizes that can be deleted.
