  1. Guruaid

This is an old subject I know, however I have seen so many bad reports about guru aid I felt I should tell you my experience with them. I have been with the legit Guru-aid for a number of years, and have only praise for them. I have had to ask for there assistance many times, and they have always solved my problem. The only thing is they do try to to get you to sign up for three years. I do not doubt most of the other comments are true, but I do believe they were not talking to the Guru-aid that I use they are just scammers pretending to be Guru aid. I have first hand knowledge of these scammers myself and there is more than one company pretending to be Guru-aid..

    :)

  2. Guruaid Tech Support Experience

Hello anyone and everyone. The experience in question: I regretfully agreed to allow an agent from Guruaid to install (?) a program that he said gave him remote access to my computer. He instructed me to use Chrome or IE, neither of which I have ever used,
and I ended up using IE for the remainder of the experience. Since the experience I have not been able to find any evidence of a service running in the background or otherwise that would indicate that there is something from Guruaid. I have used Webroot to
scan my computer (Webroot advised me not to visit Guruaid in the first place), I have checked the services and processes tabs in the task manager, I have checked the install/uninstall list in the control panel, I checked the downloads folder, and I have also
checked the add-on/plug-in/extension list on IE (even though I never use it). However, I am unable to find any evidence of a program or the like that I can identify as originating from Guruaid. Yet, I am still paranoid. Should I be? And what recourse do
I have if I have compromised my e-security and/or the performance of my pc? Thank you, so much for reading and any advice you have to offer.
