Windows 10: Guys my old cumputer broke and i took the old hdd to recover my pdf books but it is EFS...

I have a 2tb hard drive which was my primary hard drive until recently.I installed HDisk sentinel which informed me that my hard disk health
is on a a not so good 51% level. So,i bought another HDD (firecuda, much better)and made it my primary Disk. During that process of switching, somehow my windows on old drive got corrupted . I installed windows on my new drive. Now,
Although i have copied most of my files from the windows partition of old HDD, there are a few folders of personal nature
which i am unable to retrieve due to EFS encryption. I don't even remember turning it on or putting a password etc on it.

Now, my current scenario is that, my old HDD is perfectly fine, but due to the fact that i have windows on another drive, i am unable to access those my documents folder in windows
partition of old drive. Cant even copy it or open those files.

Important facts, : * windows 10 64 bit,

* old HDD still has all windows files on the partition, but its windows is corrupt. so, i cant boot and un-encrypt it.

IS THERE ANY CHANCE of retrieving those files.

Yes, that would be a favorable solution if possible. But it requires what I said as a first step. Once he gets booted into the OS, then he can either use it as is or try to recover the product key. I'm not saying he couldn't do what you said, I was replying to another post that suggested simply copy/pasting documents from the old hard drive.

There is no solution available without the encryption key.

Recuva or similar on the old drive to undelete the old key [there is some information about its location in

Without the key you are not going to recover those files. EFS is too good for that.
