Windows 10: GW2K AIO Verson Updates Always Fail JMicron SD Card Reader

I have an old Gateway 2000 AIO Kitchen PC. I has always failed feature updates but does allows a clean install. After clean install both the TV tuner and SD card reader don't work. I removed the TV tuner because our cable system recently scrambled the signal and I now stream all my content. I do need to use the SD card slot sometimes for pictures and a Raspberry Pi. I found a version of the Jmicron JMB38 driver that works with Win10 but unfortunately this driver seems to be the hangup to updates. Currently running 1809 and want to update to 1909. Any ideas? Thanks.

That's a fine computer. From your original post it sounded like it was ancient and decrepit *Biggrin

If the SD Card reader is causing problems, disable it and get a USB replacement for around $10. That may resolve your problems and allow you to upgrade to later versions of Win 10.

You can pick up a Refurb i3 or i5 computer with 8GB ram and a 500GB/1TB 7200RPM hard drive for $150. Might be time to look at doing that, perhaps as a Christmas present to yourself *chuckle Most will have a Media card reader as well. If not you can add a USB attached one for $10.
