Windows 10: .gz files

Do I need to keep .gz files on windows 10?Taking up much space and date from 12/20 to 12/21.

Windows 10 does not support gz files natively, you need to download the free version of 7Zip or WinRar to extract those gz files . . .

i did extract the files thats in .gz , but the problem it, everytime the launcher launches, it will create another file but in .gz not in .txt, so i need a way to make it automatically changes into the .txt file
