    Can someone please tell this Senior how to totally clear my old desktop of all personal info before installing my new Dell. A previous reply told me to access update & security & click Recovery& then Remove Everything.. Process starts but a new page pops up asking me to reinstallWindows. which I don't want to do. Please advise. Many thanks.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

    For us to identify the cause of the issue, we suggest that you perform a clean boot to disable non-Microsoft services and check if the issue persists. For steps on how to perform a clean boot, click here.
    After troubleshooting, refer to How
    to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting found in the same article.

    Windows just updated...now it won't shut down
