Windows 10: Hackers using recent MS Office vulnerabilities to distribute malware

Hackers are exploiting vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office software to spread a sophisticated form of malware capable of stealing credentials, dropping additional malware, cryptocurrency mining and conducting distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

The malware has been active since 2016 and despite its powerful capabilities, it's available to purchase on underground forums for as little as $75.

Researchers at FireEye have observed a new campaign attempting to deliver the malware via spam emails to targets in the telecommunications, insurance and financial industries, with all of these attacks attempting to exploit recent vulnerabilities uncovered in Microsoft Office software...

Microsoft edge

Windows defender found no virus or malware. I gave up on edge and switched to Firefox. Edge is to vulnerable to viruses, malware and hackers till they fix all there issues I will not use it.

Does anyone know how to remove Edge from the system?

Possibly Hacked? Disturbing logs.

It looks like your computer is, in fact, hacked. It seems as if a hacker has restricted privileges for Windows Defender, so the malware cannot be found. It looks like the hacker was able to get into our computer and installed the malware 1a6ef95.msi.
The hacker overrode many things. Do you know when you may have gotten this? Did you download anything recently from download/torrent sites?
