Windows 10: hacking by port#.

ds: i've a hp 17-by1061st 6bit laptoplt running home. my lt is 9being hacked all day, every day. there are 2 main probs.

one is block dvd & usb port, by which on restart, when i do a Fn+f9 key the dvd & usb don't show up. it makes

me i can't implement anything . i'll get to 2. later on. thx.. kg;

Port 31337 - "Elite"; Is this a hack tool?

Hi.

So my sister's new laptop [Win10; Asus] has port 31337 open [TCP; IPv4 and IPv6] by "system".

-31337 is read as Eleet aka Elite

I looked around the internet and found that is port is associated with trojans and BackOrifice (which is a backdoor hack tool).

Now I am not sure if this really is a virus/hack tool, but I have a feeling that it is.

At the time when I found out about this she had avast antivirus installed (the tech guy at the store did this even though I didn't ask for it), it's scan didn't find anything, but when I switched to windows defender it found a hack tool fast, it had to be
'removed' by defender few times, not 100% sure if the last scan got rid of it.

I also run 7 other virus scanners (as suggested in another thread here) and few of them found some viruses and removed them, I run some of them in safe mode, to see if anything changed (it didn't).

The port is still open, idk what this might mean.

The app that I used to scan open ports also has an option to send tcp messages to the port, when sending text starting with "/" I got a html-type response saying something like "invalid request". Maybe I should write a program to see what all possible requests
get me?

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.

Port is being blocked

Upon researching, this seems like an issue due to the port scan. You may want to try the steps listed below and check if it works.

• Login to your Netgear
  NX6200 Extender GUI.
  
• Click on Advanced tab and choose
  WAN Setup.
  
• Check the box for Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection.
  
• Allow it to update and check if the port is still being blocked.
