I feel like the starting menu does not suit. When I had these issues, it was the transition from 1909 to the 2004/20h2 upgrade. When I disabled the Cortana in the Reg Editor, the issue went away. Since it wasn't just the start menu, it wouldn't open the calendar often and I would have to force a restart. This solves the problem, but it is going to start again.

I got a feeling that Cortana is in conflict with the taskbar for windows. Has anybody else had this dilemma and had to do the same thing I did?

    :)

    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.

    • Type system icons.

    • Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

Provide us with the below information to help you better.

Make sure Volume button display is enabled in taskbar.

    • Open settings window
    • Click on personalization, on left pane select task bar.
    • On right pane click on 'select what icons appear on the taskbar'.
