Hello,I recently reinstalled my home laptop, after all the updates I can't use my pin to log into windows. They want to send a verification code by text to my Lan line that has no text capabilities. Now I can't sign into my laptop. I tried adding my @gmail email address as another verification option as i could not find how to change my lan line to my cell phone, but now they sent a verification email to my old @xbox360 email account which is the account I use for my laptop but I don't know how to view that email as I don't actually USE the @xbox360.com account, so now I don't know what to d

Are you going to use a new Microsoft account? If yes, follow the steps below:

• Click on the Start button, then go to Settings >
  Account > Your Account.
• Select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead.
• Follow the prompts to switch to a Microsoft account. You may need to verify your identity by entering a confirmation code.

Yes the correct or current info is in the Settings/Accounts/Your email and accounts.
The steps in the tutorial included signing in after deleting a listing. I couldn't see where that was relevant since its a second listing. It looks like I have to voluntarily do the 'sign in' so I can avoid doing that. I'm locked out for 30 days anyway.
Perhaps its time to set up a stand alone user account in that laptop <grin> Too nerve wracking dealing with this MSAccount.
