  1. Had Win8.1, tried Win10, huge problems, back Win8.1, bak 2 Win10

I Had Win8.1, tried Win10, had huge problems (Win10 problems and Saitek Drivers non-existent for Win10), went back to Win8.1, Now want to go back 2 Win10 , now that Saitek has newer Win10 drivers for peripherals. (Saitek, was all screwed up refused to make Win10 drivers for a very long time.

Will Win10 install over my Win 8.1 and keep my applications, or will I have to re-load al my applications and programs?

    Thanx

I have DCS, IL-2 and also, Steam with Flight Simulators. Also Flight Sticks, etc. Drivers, Software, etc.
    All in the Win8.1 install.

    :)

  2. Win8.1 Pro and Win10

Just after Win10 came on line I had a problem with my HP laptop so I sent it to HP for repairs. They did a fantastic job and within a week my laptop was back. My problem is that they did a factory reinstall. I got it back with in8.1. I used to have Win8.1
Pro in it. when Win10 offered to reinstall I forgot that I had not installed my copy of Win8.1 Pro so naturally I ended up with Win10 not the pro version.

My question: is there any way to modify my present copy of Win10 to Win 10 Pro without having to remove Win10 first and installing Win8 Pro and then reinstalling Win10 to get the Pro version?

    Thanks,

I cannot get back to win10, from win 8.1

Last year 5/8/2015 I bought a new Asus vivo vm60 costing me £650, with win8.1 in it, I immediately upgraded to win10, and was very happy with it. 2 weeks ago I tried to install Silvercrest Graphics Tablet and Corel 4 Esentials which I used to use in
my winXP. Immediately I lost all my win10 functions except the MS Edge. I did a Restore which took me back to win 8.1. Then I wanted to go back to win10. There was this message telling me that the upgrade to win10 expired in 29 july 2016, win10 upgrade is
£99.99. I contacted MS support 3 different tech.'s kibdly tried to help me but each time I got win8.1. How is it possible that I cannot get back to win10 which I used for a year and now I am unable to get back on it because win10 free upgrade from win8.1 ceased
on the 29/july/2016...? Why am I expected to pay £99.99?

If you use the Media Creation tool to do an upgrade, and as long as you chose "Upgrade this PC now" , you should be fine. The only problems you may encounter are incompatible drivers. You can also create a bootable media, but upgrading it directly is better IMO.

Not really installing over it, will save older OS for backup in case you wanted to go back within 30 days after upgrade.
It will give you the option during the upgrade on what to save, but i would still backup all my software and files to an external device before hand.

Win8 OEM is now Win10 OEM??? How Come?: So, I did that thing again where you go back to what your PC came with, in my case it is Win8.1, and then you feel bored so you upgrade to Windows 10 again. Overall I think Win8(.1 update 1) is better than Win10.: "Reset This PC" Confusion Firstly it seems MS have gotten-rid of the 'Refresh This PC' terminology to describe the distinction between keeping files but keeping settings/apps intact, or removing both files and apps/settings (the old Reset This PC).
