Half of my laptop has gone inverted colours and half hasn't....any help?

Hi,

Half of my laptop has gone inverted colours, such as my files, chrome homepage and programmes like paint.

In my files, I cant see any of the text as it's gone white with a white background.

I've tried editing the contrast settings but they just just change the entire laptop rather than just fix the individual programmes.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Entire directory gone

First, I am running Windows 10 Home I work in college athletics and I have a folder on my hard drive for every sport my school has. Today I went to the baseball folder only to find out it is gone. The entire folder, which probably has 7-8 years with of documents in a separate sub-folder for each year, is gone. Maybe as many as 200-300 documents. I though maybe somehow I deleted the folder. I can't see how but I guess it is possible. So I went to the Recycle Bin. I haven't opened it for probably this entire year, but when I did it looked exactly like Windows Explorer, not what I remember. It said Recycle Bin at the top Has this been changed? I tried searching for "Baseball" which is the name of the folder, but it returned nothing. I haven't emptied the bin in at least a year or more. In fact, I couldn't even see how to empty it. Any idea of what might have happed to the directory and am I seeing the correct Recycle Bin?
