Windows 10: Half of the disc storage is taken but no files present

Hello There! I have a problem, I was at my home dong nothing when i found a Sony DVD-R disc laying so i picked it up and loaded in my laptop, i have noticed there are some files that i don't need but i backed it yp in my other drive, then i began to format the disc and it was successful but it took half of the storage, i inspected if there are still files but there are none, The disc's space is 4.7GB and 2GB is missing or filled i don't know, i reformatted the disc but still no luck, i ran disk management then i realize, there is 2GB of storage available but where did the rest go? I right clic

I suggest you to follow the below steps to read the Windows 7 disc and check if it helps.

• Insert Windows 7 disc.
• Press “Windows+E” which will open file explorer.
• There you will find the Windows 7 disc.
• Open the disc and copy the files anywhere on your computer, so that you can access the information from the disc.

Files waiting to be written to disc

The Files waiting to be written to disc error occurs when the files that you're trying to burn are accidentally placed on the driver that is used by the disc burner, or when attempting to burn a disc fails. To resolve this, we suggest
that you delete the temporary files to be burned as these files could be conflicting the process of burning the files that you want.

Here are the steps:

• Open Run by pressing the Windows key + R simultaneously.
• Type shell:cd burning, and then press Enter
  to open the Temporary Burn Folder.
• Delete all the files in the Temporary Burn Folder folder.
• Restart the PC.
• Attempt to finish burning the CD.

Note: In the event that some files in Temporary Burn folder won't delete, restart the PC, and then try the procedure again.

To delete temporary files, kindly follow these steps:

• Press the Windows key to launch the Start menu.
• Type in Disc cleanup and press Enter.
• Under Files to delete, select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
• Select OK.

If you need to free up more space, you can also delete system files:

• Press the Windows key to launch the Start menu.
• Type in Disc cleanup and press Enter.
• In Disk cleanup, select Clean up system files.
• Select the file types to get rid of. To get a description of the file type, select it.
• Select OK.
