  1. Halo of white pixels on images I'm trying to copy - began right after I got the Layers update!

After I got the Layers update to Paint, I noticed that whenever I went to copy and paste any image I'd created, I would get a "halo" of white pixels along the right-hand side of the image. Sometimes it only showed on certain areas of my image; other times it showed up along practically all the right-hand side of my image. I've tried coloring the entire background of my master image, then filling in those white pixels with the same color as the BG. After saving that, I then right-clicked the entire BG to clear it all out. For a while it worked - I could copy and paste my image just fine. But to

  2. Background layer in MS Paint since latest update is blank

WHY do we have to go through all of these steps when all they have to do is make the default all white, and those who want to use layers can choose that option? Default should be the simplest.

    White pixel on screen

    Hello Sumit,

I tried following your steps, however, the white pixel appeared again before I installed the display drivers. Also, no idea if this will help you but the white pixel is not there when I boot in safe mode. Any idea on what can be wrong?

Background layer in MS Paint since latest update is blank

The following solution worked for me:

To restore a white background, here's a possible solution:

    • Click the Layers icon.
    • Click Create new layer icon. Drag it to the bottom.
    • Click Show Layer. Flood fill it with a white background.
    • Click Hide Layer. Select the original image.
Now when editing your original image, it'll behave like the old paint tool.

Microsoft Paint Selection Delete, gives Checkered Background
