Windows 10: Handsfree microphone not working

HelloA few months ago, I changed my Windows laptop and driver. I can not use the handsfree as a microphone.Please help me:

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

Method 1: I suggest you to set microphone as default device and check.

• 
  Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices"
  
• 
  Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
  
• 
  Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
  
• 
  Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
  
• 
  Click Apply and OK.
  

Step 2: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

• 
  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled. Follow the steps given to check that:
  
• 
  Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
  
• 
  Now, Right Click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
  
• 
  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.
  

And also update the audio drivers from the manufacturer web site and install.

e51 - not working microphone from the plugged in default handsfree headphones

I have my e51 for more than an year (no warranty any more). At the beginning the handsree, the original one found in the box was working fine. From time to time when I was listening to the radio the functional button was not working in changing the presets.
To start working again I had to unplug and plug again the handsfree. Later on I started having problems with the handsfree microphone. When plugged in the handsfree microphone not working - on the other sidethey were not hearing me and all the time will closing
the connection :-(. The unplug plug trick worked for a while and now it does not at all. Of course I bought a new original Nokia handsfree the same as the one found in the box. However I experience the same problems.



At the beginning when the jack of the handsfree was plugged in the phone automatically was recognized as a handsfree. Now when I plug in the phone is asking me what kind of accessory is this. I set handsfree - but only the headphones are working, neither
the microphone nor the functional button.



I guess this sound like a hardware problem but it will be much easier if a soft one.The problem appears no matter of the version of the firmware. Now I have the lastest e51 firmware.



Is it possible the reason for the problem to be missplug of the power adapter cable, as I think it is possible sometimes by mistake I have tried to plug the power in the wrong hole of the handsfree.



Please advise how to solve such a problem. Thank you.

I suggest you to run the microphone troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Type “Troubleshooter” in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on ‘View All’ on the top left corner.
• Click on “Recording Audio” from the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.
