Windows 10: Handwriting recognition duplicates text on Windows 11

Handwriting recognition worked wel for a time, but now when I write, some apps do not receive any input at all, other duplicate each word. When I write text: "This is a test." I get "ThisThis isThis is aThis is a testThis is a test.". Can you reinstall the app for keyboard? Or are there any known issue? I work on a surface pro 8, windows 11.

Help! I have a Surface Pro 3 with the latest fast ring build of Windows 10. My problem is this. When I use handwriting recognition I often get duplicate text in the output. For example, in handwriting I might write "I am having trouble with handwriting,"
and the recognition turns out "I am having trouble with rouble with handwriting with handwriting." That is, parts of the text I wrote in handwriting gets duplicated. This happens in a variety of programs including Word 2016. It has also happened in many
different builds of Windows 10. Can anyone help? My system is up to date and all the correct drivers seem to be installed (I can't find any errors in device manager).

From the above description, I understand handwriting recognition is duplicating some of the word typed on the screen.



You may be facing the above issue due to the missing or corrupted system files present in your PC. Sometimes the issue might exist due to the presence of virus/malware on the machine.



Method 1: Scan your PC for virus/malware attacks by running the anti-virus software. Run the anti-virus software twice to detect and confirm any malware/virus on your PC and check if the issue is resolved.



Method 2: If the issue persists, put your system in
Clean boot state and check if any third party software is causing the issue.



Putting your system in Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.



I suggest you to perform clean boot by following the steps from the link below and check if the issue is resolved.



You can open the system configuration window in Windows 10:



a. Using run command.

• 
  Press Windows Key + R keys on the Keyboard.
  
• 
  Type msconfig.msc and press
  Enter.
  

b. Using Cortana.

• 
  Press Windows icon key on the keyboard and type
  msconfig.
  
• 
  Select the top most search result.

How to get handwriting recognition to recognise diacritical marks?

You must install German handwriting recognition.

Step 1: Install German language from Settings > Time & Language > Language > Add a language:





Step 2: Select German, unselect Install language pack, select Handwriting:





That should do it!
