Windows 10: Handwriting recognition in Korean and Chinese

How can I draw Korean or Chinese characters on my graphics tablet and have them recognised as text?It was a text input mode under Windows 10. The IME is impractical, far too slow and primitive. Is that all there is under Windows 11?

"Handwriting recognition time" issues with Chinese

Hello everyone!



I'm having issues with the new (since WP 7.8, I assume) "handwriting recognition time" setting. Even the longest setting is noticabely too short for a Chinese learner like me. This has unfortunately quite severely impeded my ability to write Chinese on
my phone. Could Microsoft please take this up as a suggestion to add an option for an even longer recognition time?

How to get handwriting recognition to recognise diacritical marks?

You must install German handwriting recognition.

Step 1: Install German language from Settings > Time & Language > Language > Add a language:





Step 2: Select German, unselect Install language pack, select Handwriting:





That should do it!

 

Korean Speech recognition

Thanks you for posting your reply and update.

As I mentioned, in the above post, Korean is not one of the languages which are available for speech recognition on Windows 10. The list of languages “English (United States and United Kingdom), French, German, Japanese, Mandarin (Chinese Simplified
and Chinese Traditional), and Spanish.” No such version is presently there which can support other languages.
