    A Rant -
to be honest I wish I had never bought one .windows and computer hardware .I picked it up quite quick, and that surprised me as im really not well educated, and have ADHD, I became the go to guy in the family ,and my wife has 10 brothers and sisters .its still drives me crazy that they still have to get me to do basic computer stuff ,

  3. My first foray into computers was in 83 when I bought a Vic 20, thinking my kids would enjoy using it and inputting their own games ( they never did ).
Then in 89 an opportunity to purchase ($3,500) a 80286 through the company I worked for then brought me into computers, Dos 4, then 3.1, 95, 98, XP, (skipped Me and Vista) 7, 8, 8.1 and now playing with 10.... Happy days....

My first computer was in 1982 I bought ZX Spectrum with 48 memory. My first pc was in 1990 with a 286 running at 12th and had MS-DO on it.

I had as much fun on a computer back then as I do today.

    I've had pretty much all versions of Windows including NO and 2000 but not 3.11. So 3.1, 95, 98, Me, NO, 2000, X, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1.

3.11 was just 3.1 with networking ,I think that was the big difference

No, there was Windows 3.11 and Windows 3.11 For Workgroups. 3.11 for Workgroups had networking, 3.11 was just an update to 3.1

And, in true Microsoft fashion, 3.11 for Workgroups was almost a completely different version of Windows, in that it had a 32 bit file I/O layer (vxd's) that was the basis for Windows 95. Ironically, this seemingly minor update was a huge change in functionality.
