  1. Hard drive acting up

Yesterday I wanted to watch some videos on my computer but noticed that my internetconnection was really bad so I decided to boot into safe mode and see if it would change. When I restarted my computer to boot into safe mode it took a "little" bit longer than usual and I got met with a message stating that it was scanning the disk and looking for and/or repairing found errors. Anyway, after a while it just booted fine and the start screen appeared. I tested the internet and it seemed to be working much better than in normal mode but I noticed that the sound device wasn't working so I couldn't watch any videos.

This time I made a little change to the registry; adding a third party sound device to load into safeboot and

I went into msconfig to re-arrange boot options and while I had to check the original boot checkbox I checked load system services only and restarted my device.

While it was restarting it suddenly got stuck in a bootloop and didn't get past the logo of the manufacturer.

I can only access command prompt with the help of a usb and I have no idea what commands to execute.

I trıed bcdedit but this doesn't work and only gives error messages.

So I disconnected my harddrive and connected it to another laptop but the drive letters look empty or are occupying just a few megabytes in explorer and all my files and folders seem gone.

I'm out of options and considering to use multiple data recovery software.

Anybody has any other solutions, suggestions or things that I should try ?

    :)

    Overclock your hard drive!!!

Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    STEPS:
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!
