    Hard Drive making Growling Noise.


    HP7 1510 Desktop...Core i3 16GB ram...Nvidia GTX 750Ti


    Installed new hard drive...NAS Seagate 10T.



    Installed fresh copy of Windows 10...installed fine, including all updates.


    My new HD is making noises as if its trying to constantly load something...its bugging me.


    Also, my mouse pointer works sporadically.


    My computing skills about 5 out of 10.


    Should I worry, or do some drives make these noises?

    1. Do you mean that you hard drive makes noise?

    2. When exactly do you hear the "noise"?

    3. Can you boot into your desktop?

    For now, I would suggest that you check if the hard drive or the fan located inside your system makes the noise. I suspect that the culprit might be the fan.

    Hard drive making noise

    One of my hard drives (a Samsung 160GB SATA) started to make a constant noise, like if something got stuck in a fan, and it keeps getting louder the more time the PC is running. I have disconnected the drive for now, What should i do with it, its not under warranty any more.
