    Hard drive replaced and now lap top runs horrible!! Please Help


    I bought my HP lap top beginning of 2018. Ran great! My oldest son had dropped the lap top and the hard drive stopped working. Took my lap top into a local tech guy who replaced the hard drive for me and it hasn't run right ever since. What do I do? How can I fix my lap top?

    After installing Windows 10 in my hp lap top I have to replace the Hard Drive. I can get a new one for about $60 but my question is Do I have to install a new Windows program or is it built in? If so how do I go back to Windows 8.1 I do not want Windows

    If you want to replace the harddrive, you need to reinstall the operating system because Windows is installed on the harddrive.

    What are the issues you are experiencing with Windows 10?

    What is the reason you want to replace the hard drive or go back to Windows 8.1?

    Computer Running Slow After Hard Drive Replacement

    Hi Aiden

    When you replaced that hard drive, did you clean install Windows 10 on the new hard drive and if so, did you install a full set of device drivers after that?

    Did you replace the hard drive with another hard drive or an SSD drive?

    Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

    Choose the Processes tab

    Is the HDD, RAM or CPU at a very high percentage, when you are not doing anything on your PC?

    If so,click that column header, so that arrow faces down

    What are the top 5 processes in the list?
