  1. Hard drive won’t show on Windows 10

Hi,My external hard drive stopped showing up when I’d plug it in. I tried multiple usb ports as well as 2 different computers, my tv etc. I went into disk management and it says it has 2 partitions; partition 1 has 16mb capacity, it says partition 2 has a 1860gb capacity. When I right click, every option except “delete volume” and “help” are greyed out. It does shows up in device manager, though when I click “properties” it says the device is working properly. On the volumes tab it is all blank however. It does let me eject it when I click on the taskbar though, and it makes the little sound w

    Windowed Hard Drives

On the contrary, showing off "slow tech" by adding a window to a hard drive is a "dumb" idea. Do you really want to be showing off a whole "7200-10000 RPM of power" or would you rather show off a plain SSD drive? (If you really desire to "show off")

Adding any window to any drive is just stupid. I just suggested an easier option for you since manufactures don't put windows on the latest hard drives.

    Hard Drive not Showing

    Hi Lori,

    Thank you for posting back.

    • How are you connecting the Hard drive to your computer?
    • Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a different computer and check if it works?

It's possible that your USB drivers are corrupt. I suggest you to try the following steps and check.

    • Press Windows Key +R and type
      devmgmt.msc
      to open Device manager.
    • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
      at the left bottom.
    • Right-click the first USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and then click on
      Uninstall to remove it.
    • Repeat these steps for the entire USB controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers.
    • Restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically scan for hardware changes and reinstall all the USB controllers that you uninstalled.

Keep us posted with the status of the issue to assist you further.

    Thank you.
