    Hello So I have two storage drives one is my ssd which has the operating system and the other is a 1 tb hdd which I put my files in it my hdd is about 12 years old and today it just stopped working and I couldn't access my files in it even though i could see it in my pc folder but i couldn't get in and then there is a message that popped up which says restart to fix your hard drive I clicked on it and then my pc restarted and opened a black screen that showed fixing hard drive f: ETA:60 HOURS my question is if I hard restart my pc through the power button will it corrupt my files beyond savi

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
    causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:


    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

    If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

    HDD Corrupt ?

    Hi,

    There are many possible reasons this issue is happening. We'd like to ask few questions below:

    • What is the brand name of you Hard Disk Drive?
    • How old is the HDD?
    Since you already tried multiple troubleshooting steps, we suggest visiting the manufacturer's website. Find and download a hard drive diagnostic software to help resolve the issue.
