    Hardware error - Windows 10

    Hey there,

A few days ago my PC crashed 3 times in a row with a WATCHDOG violation error. I tried restoring my PC to a restore point, but after that, it got stuck in a rebooting loop. Somehow I ended up in the blue Troubleshooting section while booting up and tried to restore again to that restore point from there, and after that my PC was able to boot up without crashing.

After that, I got on with Microsoft support via chat, and it was not helpful. The person couldn't answer my question, which was "what caused the crashes in the first place". Instead he led me to install an update on my computer, assuring me it would fix whatever problem there was.

Since he couldn't answer my question, he escalated me to a different support person. By this time, my software had already started updating and when my computer rebooted, it kicked me off the call with that escalated support person. He also couldn't answer my question as to what caused the crashes in the first place.

Since updating 3 days ago, I haven't seen my computer crash, but there's been some weird issues.

Today is day 3 and so far I'm not seeing any errors in the reliability history.

I do see some "Information Events" that I don't understand though. For example:

Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: 9NBLGGH4LS1F-Microsoft.StorePurchaseApp

Hoping someone here can help me out. The last time I posted in the Community, the support was awesome!

    Thanks,

    Eric

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
