  1. Hardware repair and system upgrade

    Hi,

Fujitsu AH530 Laptop: 500G hdd, Windows 10 home

Having issues with current hdd. Found that it has damaged sectors. Decided to to change to 1T ssd as a way to repair and upgrade. I tried to do a simple clone using software recommended by ssd manufacturer (Crucial). Too much sector damage for cloning to work. I thought a new system might do the trick, so got Windows 10 pro. That loaded onto the new ssd OK, but will not allow data files to be transfered from the old hdd. I also have some 3rd party programmes that I need to transfer. Can anyone solve this problem for me?

    :)

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.

    Stuck in Windows 10 Upgrade

My computer seems to be stuck in a Windows 10 failed upgrade loop. I was running fine on a beta version of Windows 10, and then I came downstairs one morning to see it repeatedly booting, attempting to repair, then rebooting. The steps I've taken to diagnose are:

    • Attempting to boot off a USB drive (with all drives disabled in BIOS) - this fails at the point of the blue windows screen
    • Attempting to boot the machine itself and getting into "repair/safe mode" using F7
    • Looking at the BIOS for obvious failures (e.g. RAM that should be there is missing) - nothing obvious is wrong.

I am fairly certain the build version was 9926. For many months, the system would attempt to upgrade, and then say "it failed" for some reason and roll back.

    Suggestions for next steps?

Windows store doesnt detect System hardware

    Hi MimicTheTruth,

You can try to perform a clean install but there is no assurance that the issue will be resolved if it really is a bug.

Try checking for Windows Updates and performing a repair upgrade instead. Below are articles for your reference:

Should you choose to perform the suggested troubleshooting, let us know how it turns out.
