Windows 10: Hardware reserved memory not changing pass 2gigs of ram in msconfig when i have 6 gigs...

In task manager, I have 2.8gigs usable and 3.2 hardware reserved and the rest is cached all ram slots are showing used. I attempted to fix it by disabling the page file still struggling to search for a fix I shouldn't have to check the ram slots since it came out of a factory I've enabled ClearPageFileAtShutdown in the Registry still no solution I've originally tried changing the amount in MSConfig but kept reverting back to 2gigs something is affecting its behavior and i can't get down to the issue I've also attempted changing it in safe mode same results I'm a tech nerd asking for help

Hardware Reserved Ram usage is high

my configuration is MOBO gigabyte GA970

FX 8350 processor

GTX 1060 6GB GPU

24 GB corsair vengeance ram

latest RS5 build of fast insider ring. win 64



I recently saw that my hardware reserved memory shot up to 8 GB while there was only 16GB attached to the PC in DIMM 1/3.

I tried changing the dims but no change .

I added another 8 GB ram stick in and still the hardware reserved memory is same I tried the BIOS Update which was already uptodate , tried changing the maximum memory in msconfig. but still no change.

 

Change Hardware reserved memory to 2GB

In the opening post it displayed:

""my hardware reserved memory remains 298MB, I want to change this to 2GB""

There was no explanation of why you want to increase hardware reserved memory.

Please explain what you are trying to accomplish.

In all cases end users complain that they are no getting the maximum use out of their installed RAM and want to decrease the hardware reserved RAM.

Again please explain why you want to increase it.

 

How to Change Hardware Reserved Memory

I currently have 12gb of RAM installed on my PC but exactly 8.0gb is reserved for hardware. I have looked around online and have found 3 solutions all of which failed to yield any successful results, these results being: editing registry edit, changing msconfig advanced boot options and switching RAM stick slots. I used to only 10gb hardware reserved but after changing UAF settings in BIOS to "Auto" the reserved amount changed to 8. I swear I have looked everywhere and even managed to nearly brick my computer in the process. Any sort of research online always leads back to "Modify msconfig advanced boot options", "Switch/replace RAM stick slots" and "Reset BIOS settings to default" and none of these work for me and I am not the only one. Please, someone provide a different solution to the ones I have already listed above, I have already went as far as upgrading from x2 4gb RAM to x1 4gb RAM & x1 8gb RAM (all DDR4, 2400 MHz).
