Windows 10: Has anyone encountered an issue, where after turning on the system, sleep mode will not...

I've been having a problem with my Windows 10 PC. In particular, after turning on my system, I would be able to get my PC sleep on the first time I would set my PC to sleep. However, after waking up my PC and setting to sleep the second time, the PC would not sleep. On the second sleep time w/o shutting down the PC completely, the PC would stay on for at least 2 minutes before shutting down completely, instead of sleep, like it should.


My question is, what solution(s) exist for solving this problem? In other words, I want my PC to be able to sleep, every time I set it to sleep, rather than only being able to get my computer to sleep 50% of the time.

PC turns on straight away after sleep mode is on

I see that you system is still on even if the sleep mode option is turned on. This might be due to the change in the power plan settings.

Please follow the below methods and check if it works,

Method 1: I suggest you to run in-built Power troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting on the left pane, click on
  View All.
• Click on Power to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: If the above method doesn’t help, I would suggest you to reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back with their default settings. Follow the steps.

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Type Power Options and then Enter.
• In the left pane Select Change when the computer sleeps.
• Select Restore default settings on this plan.
• Restart the computer and check with the issue.

Issues with the Sleep mode and Hibernate in Windows 10

I see that even if you are placing the PC in sleep mode or hibernate mode the PC will turn back On after some time. This might be due to the corruption in Power management settings.

I would suggest you to disconnect the TV from computer and check if the issue persists. If the issue does not persists then you can move further with the below troubleshooting steps.

I suggest you to try running the Power Troubleshooter to check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Power troubleshooter
