Windows 10: has anyone ever heard of external speakers functioning through one speaker only when...

i have tested this after updating an audio driver and restarting my laptop. i found that the speaker has a jack for a headphone in the speaker itself.So what happens is that when i plugged in the speaker to the headphone jack, one speaker becomes muted. When I also plug in the headphones into the speaker, one side of the headphones also becomes muted.I thought that I had posted an original thread related to this topic here, but it does not seem to be in my profile.One logical issue is that the external speaker is somehow not being recognized specifically by the laptop as stereo speakers, and t

External Speaker Is Not Working

I have connected two wires from the speakers to the laptop but the external speaker is not working. The sound is being heard from the internal speaker. I have already tried clicking the speaker button in the taskbar. Please suggest me something else than
that.

 

Adding external speakers

Depending on the built in sound device on the MB. Some support 2.1/5.1/7.1 and also optical audio out. Just plug in the cable that comes with the speaker to it then switch the sound output for the speaker.

1. Sound input to speakers
2. Some high end speakers support digital sound then you would use an optical cable.
3. Sound input to TV using HDMI cable

Windows 10 may have encountered a driver conflict that caused this issue since you've already tried the function keys + F9 to F11. For us to help you with this, kindly answer the following questions:

  winver on the search bar and press Enter.
• What is the model number of your Toshiba laptop?
• Are you using a built in speaker or an external speaker?
