Windows 10: Has someone be able to found windows precision touchpad drivers for asus X540SA or some...

Hi, ive been searching a way to get rid of these stupid asus smart gestures drivers for a while now. while i know that this trackpad is an elan one and many people have been able to replace smart gestures driver with WP Driver but ive tried many drivers and none of them seems to work. so i just wanted to ask that has someone be able to find a windows precision driver that works with asus X540SA or some similar model. if yes then please let me know.

Precision Touchpad Driver

I've just got a new Samsung Laptop, and it has a precision touchpad (from Synaptics) in it. I'm trying to find a way to disable the "Precision" bit of it, so I can use synaptics own drivers, which have more options (specifically, the palm control on it is awful, and the cursor jumps all over the screen when typing, and selects different input areas, etc. and I want to enable one finger scrolling, which isn't possible with Windows/precision). However, I'm really struggling to do this. I've downloaded the drivers from Synaptics site, but when I disable the device, install this driver (by manually selecting it using have disk), and restart, the touchpad doesn't work at all. If I install the driver by running setup, it appears to install fine, but makes no difference. If I let Windows choose the driver, it reverts back to the precision settings that I don't want!

Been searching all day trying to find something, but no joy - any suggestions?

Can't install the touchpad ASUS Precision driver on Windows 10 64bits 1803

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 64bits (1803) downloaded direct from Microsoft site in my ASUS GL503GE-ES73 notebook. The problem is that the touchpad doesn't work at all on Windows, it doesn't even appears in the
device manager. If I try to install the Precision driver provided by ASUS, it fails with the following message:

"There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected."

The touchpad works fine in BIOS Setup, and it worked fine with the (non 1803) Windows 10 that came preinstalled in the notebook, so the hardware is working fine.

I already tried running the setup as admin, installing the newest Intel chipset drivers, load the BIOS default. Nothing helped, and I can't use the trackpad at all. ASUS support wasn't helpful.

PS: BIOS installed is 303. Touchpad seems to be from ELAN.

Any idea?

PS: I was finally able to install the driver. The problem is that before installing the touchpad driver, it is needed to install some other motherboard drivers. This is not mentioned anywhere. I found it when I copied
the ASUS installer software from the original ssd (which came with everything pre-installed) and installed the components in the same order it was listed in the application. It is a shame that ASUS support did not help. Its not possible that they didn't have
this information.

 

Can't use my precision touchpad

I updated my ASUS A46C to Windows 10. I had a precision touchpad before and now I can't use it. I looked up to the settings but there was no option for precision touchpad on my laptop. It's just disturbing because my old precision touchpad helped me a
lot and felt more practical than now. Any suggestion or help?
