Windows 10: Has the Movies and TV app changed regarding what file it can support?

"Can't Play Choose something else to play. this item is in a format we don't support. 0xc00d36b4" I was able to play this video from the Movies and TV app before but all of a sudden I can't now and that's the error message I received.

Movies & TV app not working properly.

Hi,

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Get Movies & TV from the Microsoft Store

Movies and TV UWP app will not play security cam AVI

However, it would be great if you can reply with the details requested below:

• What happens when you try to play AVI videos in Movies & TV app?
  
• Do you receive an error message/code? If yes, what is the error message/code?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to download the
MPEG-2 Video Extension and see if that helps.
