Windows 10: Has there been no update to the Miracast display driver since 2006?

I've been trying to cast from my Windows 11 laptop Dell XPS 15 9500 to a TCL Roku TV and the experience has been very disappointing. When I cast, the video sometimes buffers/stutters and is blurry, glitchy or plays very slow much slower than normal. It is basically unusable. When troubleshooting, I realized that the "Miracast display port driver V3" that is used to cast is dated 2006, and there doesn't appear to be any updated version. Is this really the latest version of that software? The maximum refresh rate supported by this driver seems to be only 30Hz. I have no issues when I use Ai

Does Miracast support 4K?

We suggest that you check with the manufacturer of the 4k display device that you are using if it is certified to work with Miracast. If your display device is certified to work with Miracast, then check if your PC device supports Miracast. You may do so
by following the steps below:

• Click Start, then go to Settings >
  Projecting to this PC.
• Check if your device supports Miracast.

How to update Miracast Drivers

Miracast is a built-in feature in a Windows 10 device, to be able to update its driver you may follow these steps:

• Right-click on the Windows icon on the bottom left of your screen.
  
• Choose Device Manager.
• Once the Device Manager opens up, look for Display adapter.
• Expand it by clicking the arrow (>) pointing to the right.
• Right click on your HD Graphics driver and choose Update Driver Software.

False. It's been demonstrated that other Miracast clients work fine. Windows is broken. Accept it, or fail.
