Windows 10: Have a new computer and all it says is missing operating system

    Have a new computer and all it says is missing operating system


    So I just got a new computer and I got everything set up and when I plugged in my flash drive it only says missing operating system and I cant open up BIOS or anything

    After updates Windows 10 says "Missing operating system"

    I have the same issue, and I followed your suggestion steps. After that, I can see C: drive, and Windows folder is there.

    Then I rebooted the computer. But I still have the missing the operation system issue. Any suggestions?

    Hi Don,

    One of the reasons why there is a "System Partition (CHave a new computer and all it says is missing operating system :) (Missing)" on System Protection because there may a previous version or operating system installed on your computer before having your current version of Windows 10. The "System Partition (CHave a new computer and all it says is missing operating system :) (Missing)"
    contains the system files of the previous version or operating system on your computer. To remove the "System Partition (CHave a new computer and all it says is missing operating system :) (Missing)", follow the steps below:

    • Select "System Partition (CHave a new computer and all it says is missing operating system :) (Missing)".
    • Click Configure.
    • Choose Disable system protection.
    • Click Apply, and then click OK.
    • Check if you can still see "System Partition (CHave a new computer and all it says is missing operating system :) (Missing)".
    Kindly share with us the result.

    Programs not working


    In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
    Are you able to follow them?
    In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
