Have applications open on correct display

I hate the fact that Windows 10 does not automatically allow specific applications to open on any other display than primary without some workaround. I have read and started moving certain programs around between my main screen and the others I use and go through the resizing, closing, etc. That does not fix the problem of certain things that do not allow you to resize a window. The example I have is Zoom. I can open the program on my secondary screen, choose "join" and the splash page asking for the meeting number cannot be resized and only opens on my primary screen. It's a small thing but it's a HUGE irritant when you have a multitude of things going on and you have to move the popup to get to the meeting. I need to keep my primary monitor free from all other programs so this has been a frustrating issue to work through. Any help and please do not post an add-on that I have to purchase to make this works as it used to... I miss 8.1.

    :)

    Laptop display question

Confusing statement! You want to change the display on your laptop that died?

    Is that correct?

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

    Some applications display improperly

I have an RADEON 9600 SERIES video card and a couple of applictions fail to display properly even though I installed the latest drivers and ATI control panel.

The attached jpeg is a screen shot of the opening window for "My Registry Cleaner". The normal display should fill the entire beige colored window with buttons to activate the program. Regardless of the resolution settings, the window is only partially displayed. A few other programs also display improperly but not as badly as this one.

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to set correct screen resolution.

    Hi,

As you have already updated the display driver, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Display driver. Follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the display driver.

    • Open Device Manager.
    • Expand Display adapters.
    • Right-click the display card driver and click
      Uninstall.

Now download the display driver from manufacturer’s website and install it in compatibility mode:

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    • Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on
      ‘properties’
      .

    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
Once this is done, restart the computer.

    Hope this helps.
