Have Dell COMPUTER RUNNING WINDOWS 10..Only deficiency is CPU is 7700. All other criteria met.. Why is my machine not able to upgrade to Windows 11?

i7-7700 CPU with 3.60 GHZ not supported??

I have i7-7700 CPU with 3.60 GHZ. PC Health Check app checks all the requirements as compatible, but fails with CPU not supported. Is this CPU number a miss from the list? I see many other i7 (7800X, 8700, 9700) as supported. Wondering why 7700 is left out from the list.

I am currently running Windows 10 Pro (Version 21H1) on my Alienware Aurora R6 Desktop PC. When I run the compatibility test, the PC meets all the requirements, except the processor (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz[Cores 4] [Logical processors 8]). The test indicates this process doesn't meet the requirements, yet this processor is listed on the approved list.

Swapping my i7-7700 with another CPU, same socket?

I have an Intel i7-7700/4.2Ghz CPU and now MS is telling me that even this isn't sufficient to run Win 11. Okay. So I'll stick with Win 10 until I croak. OR - can I just switch my i7-7700 CPU chip for an i-7-7800, which IS supported by MS? I may be able to afford a new CPU, but it will have to sit in the same socket. I'm on a fixed income here. C'mon, guys...are we going to need a mainframe (do they still use those?) to run Windows in the future?
