Windows 10: Have other members lost their password? I am a paying member???

broken "family member needs to sign in"

Parental controls stopped working. Family.Microsoft.com has alert: "Your family member needs to sign in to their Windows 10 device AngLaptop2014 for family features to work.

But the "how to fix this" says

• Select Accounts > Family & other people
• Under Your family, select your family member, then select Allow
• Have your family member sign in with their Microsoft account if asked to

And the steps don't apply. The account is already allowed, and there is no option to change that.

Now what???

How can I get a password for a new family member. Windows 10 tells me that he is pending.

 

Messages missing for some members of a Room

This may occur if your Room member ‘buddy’ relationships have gotten out of sync. Or, if your Microsoft account is currently in a state that requires attention.

• If you are a Room owner

Go to the Members list, tap Members, and remove the member(s) that have the issue. Once they’ve been removed, re-invite them to join the Room.

• If you are a Room member

Go to the Members list, tap […] and tap leave room. Once you’ve departed the room, have the Room owner re-invite you to join the room again.

• Check to make sure your Microsoft account is in good standing
