Windows 10: Have purchased Win 11 Pro us version but the new system was updated to Win11 Pro Canadian...

Purchased a win Pro U*S version wanted to be legal and did not notice the computer language was english but the version was canadian french now if i try to install the new version it will delete everything i do not want to repurchase a new version again and do not want to lose everything on my computer what are the options Marc

Clean install of win 11 pro

I have a laptop running with a digital licence for Win10 Pro. The laptop originally came with Win 10 home but I upgraded to win 10 pro using a key from a win 7 ultimate dvd.

Windows update tells me I can update to win 11 pro from my present install and acquire a digital licence from MS.

My potential issue after doing so would be, if I wanted to do a clean Win 11 Pro install after getting the digital licence (for win11 pro) I suspect the install would read the bios key and install Win 11 home and not Pro. Apparently Win 7 keys are no longer valid for the Win 10 and 11 upgrades.

My question then becomes what steps do I follow to do a clean Win11 Pro install on this laptop bearing in mind the system came with Win10 Home.

Windows 11 Pro install

There is no win11 dvd media, if you have win10 Pro and your system supports win 11 then purchase the win11 pro upgrade via the store

 

New Computer: Upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro

Mom is getting a new computer. Although the computer will have Windows 10 Home preinstalled, we want the Pro version.

Are the steps correct to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro?

• Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation > Go to store > make your purchase, follow the on screen instructions and within 5 to 10 minutes you will be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.

We are in Canada. I am guessing that the upgrade price is close to US$100 converted to Canadian dollars?
