Windows 10: Have Surface Pro i7 In A Docking Station With A Monitor Attach - Resolution Changes...

Surface Pro i7Docking StationWindows 10 Pro Version 21H2 OS Build 19044.1766If I drop the keyboard so I can see the built-in monitor it has a resolution of 1920x1200. and the same is true for the attached external monitor. When I raise the keyboard close it the resolution of the monitor changes to 1920 x 1080 and there isn't an option to change it back to 1920x1200. Background.:Originally I could boot the system with the keyboard closed and, if the monitor resolution was below 1920x1200 I could change by selecting 1920.x200.Recently if I booted the system with the Surface Pro keyboard cl

I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Make sure the power light for the docking station is on
  
• 
  Make sure the monitor is getting power
  
• 
  Make sure the cable is connected properly to the monitor
  
• 
  Unplug and reconnect the Mini-DVI adapter on the back of your docking station
  
• 
  Try flipping the connector for the adapter over (turns out some adapters can go in upside-down)
  
• 
  Take the Surface out of the docking station then put it back in

Windows Powershell- Detect Docking Stations and attached monitors


I am trying to write a script to detect all docking stations and monitors attached to those docking station for Lenovo Thinkpad t540p laptops on a domain network. Most of the monitors are Asus. Any suggestions or is this even possible? Running powershell from DEV WIN 10

 

Windows 10 Update Version 1709, Surface Pro Dock and BSOD

I "allowed" installation of Windows 10 Version 1709 update on my Surface Pro 2017 late last week. At the time of the update the computer was connected to a newer Surface Pro Dock (PD9-00003)
with a Dell Monitor (U2716D), and did not seem to experience any post-update issues attached to that dock + monitor.

When I later attached to an older Surface Pro 3 Docking Station and a Dell Monitor (U3014) the Surface Pro started experiencing Blue Screens of Death (BSOD). I had been working with the Surface Pro 2017
attached to this dock for a couple of months and for years prior to that with a Surface Pro 3 and 4.

I have since replaced the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station with the same newer dock and so far everything seems okay. I post this both as an observation and a question to anyone else using a similar configuration. Have you experienced the
same BSOD?
