Have to do a "hard reboot" on Dell Inspiron Computer

I have a old Dell Inspiron Computer. Before reinstalling Windows 10 to get rid of it, I want to check to see if there are any files that I don't already have backed up or transferred to my newer computers. The computer has been shut down for more than a year. So there was a very large backlog of updates to download and install. I did some preliminary work on the computer yesterday. The downloads came in overnight. This morning, I logged in and had a notice that a reboot is required. After completing this morning's work, I decided to reboot the computer. All seemed well for a while. The computer

  3. dell inspiron 546

I have just downloaded Windows 10 to a Dell Inspiron 546 with a Dell 810 All in One printer. The previous OS was Windows 7. I had downloaded Windows 10 because the Windows invitation assured me all was well for the download.

Having made the download I discover I can not print. The printer is listed in settings. It used to be the default device.

Can you advise the steps I should take?

    Thank you.

Have to do a "hard reboot" on Dell Inspiron Computer

Boot device not found after upgrade on Dell Inspiron 5559

computer type: Dell Inspiron 5559, 2 months old

I received a notice from Dell requiring an update and reboot. After the reboot the computer gives the following error messages:

    • PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    • PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE-ROM. No boot device found. Press any key to reboot the machine.
Pressing a key returns to the same screen.

After one attempt the computer ran a hardware test and indicated that there was no HW problem.
