    Have to press backquote twice Already on EnglishUnited Kingdom keyboard


    Whenever I want a backquote I have to press the key twice, and then I get two backquotes. This appears to be because it's set as a dead key for entering diacritical marks, but I don't use that. But all the solutions I can find tell me to change the keyboard from English International to one that doesn't have dead keys. I have a UK keyboard, and have "English United Kingdom - United Kingdom Extended" selected as my keyboard, which is the only UK keyboard I can find. So how can I get my backquote key to act as a normal backquote?

    The issue might occur if the keyboard layout has been changed. I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check for status.

    • In the login screen, press/hold the Windows key
      and use the Spacebar key to change the keyboard layout to English (United Kingdom).
    • After the input language is changed, check for status.
