Windows 10: Have to restart every time I open laptop or apps won’t open and will run as background...

Recently I let the guy I started dating who was geek squad clean my computer and do some updates. Since then every time I open my laptop I have to restart it or my apps I had open won’t work. I can click the chrome icon (and all the others too) and it will look like it’s opening but it will never open a window and will only open in background processes. I can’t even move files to the recycle bin. The just stay loading. Nothing seems to work until I restart. Then everything is fine until I close the laptop and open it again. Then I have to repeat. What can I do to get it back to normal.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Have Start screen open with “All Apps” list already opened?

Version 1607 Build 14393.105 does that, click Start and the full Apps list is scrollable.

Is there a way to configure Windows 10 to have the start screen open and have the “All Apps” list already open?

The way it is now, pressing the Windows key opens the start screen with the “All Apps” icon and the “Sleep/Shut down/Restart” icon showing. I have to click the “All Apps” icon to open the list.
