    Windows PC Health Check tells me my Windows 10 Pro PC will run Windows 11, but I want to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro. Is there a free upgrade route? If so, how?If not, what to do? -- JCW2

    Clean install of win 11 pro

    I have a laptop running with a digital licence for Win10 Pro. The laptop originally came with Win 10 home but I upgraded to win 10 pro using a key from a win 7 ultimate dvd.

    Windows update tells me I can update to win 11 pro from my present install and acquire a digital licence from MS.

    My potential issue after doing so would be, if I wanted to do a clean Win 11 Pro install after getting the digital licence (for win11 pro) I suspect the install would read the bios key and install Win 11 home and not Pro. Apparently Win 7 keys are no longer valid for the Win 10 and 11 upgrades.

    My question then becomes what steps do I follow to do a clean Win11 Pro install on this laptop bearing in mind the system came with Win10 Home.

    Downgrading Win 11 Pro to Win 10 Pro Possible?

    As you once had Win 11 on your computer, you have acquired a "Digital License" for Win 10 or Win 11 Pro so it must be Win 11 PRO to Win 10 PRO. There is an option to buy the same computer with Win 10 Pro that you can install Win 11 Pro anytime
