  2. Windows 10 0x80073712 KB3172985

I received a thumb drive from Microsoft ( there were issues down loading the image) for Windows 10. I used it to reset my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 10 and it worked. I was then able to install update KB3172985 without getting error 0x80073712.

Thank you all for your assistance. This issue is now closed.

  4. Haven't been able to update my Windows 10 since the summer 0x80073712

Haven't been able to update my Windows 10 since the summer (0x80073712)

Since July I have not been able to update "Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 (KB5011048)"

    I keep getting ...

"Status: Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712)"

In turn I haven't been able to update "Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2" since the same time (even though it keeps trying.

Also have gotten this error at times 0x8007001F

    Tried the following

    1) Disconnecting all USB devices other than mouse and keyboard and updating

    2) Disconnecting all harddrives other than C: and updating

    3) Uninstalled Audio Drivers (read a number of articles saying that could cause 0x8007001F)

    4) Cleared the Software Distribution folder

    5) Tried every piece of advice for diagnostics I can find online

    • Run the Update Trouble Shooter
    • In Command Prompt run
      • sfc /scannow
      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
Figured I would come here before I do a clean install and see if anyone had any advice (wont let me upgrade to Windows 11 anymore as I would do that and then clean install)

After running DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth I got the following DISM Log file

    dism.log

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Cheers,
