  1. Having an annoying issue regarding sound and setting up my audio interface.

I've had my M-Audio M-Track 2x2 for about 2 years now and that time has been relatively painless until I finally let my computer download some new update for Windows. Everything else has been fine, but now every time I restart my computer, if I want to use my audio interface, I have to troubleshoot my sound in the settings. It does work every time I use it, but you can probably understand that it's incredibly annoying to have to do this every time.

When the troubleshooter does finish, it either says something about having messed with the sound settings, or something about the drivers. But it seems those settings must be reverting every time.

    Multichannel audio interface in/out routing

    Hi Paulo,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forums.

    • What is the make and model of your external audio interface?
    • Which routing application are you using?

The configurations of inputs and outputs on any audio interface is dependent on the hardware and its supporting software. Any audio interface with more than 2 inputs and 2 outputs, should ideally give the user an option to map the
Input and Output Config, according to his interest.

I suggest you to go through the user manual provided by your audio interface's manufacturer to know how to set up the control surface.

If it doesn't explain how to configure, I suggest you to get in touch with the audio interface's manufacturer to know how to configure the same.

    Hope it answers.

    Regards,

    Weird issue with sounds

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand it can be quite annoying when you have to change audio settings frequently. The volume of the audio might reduce automatically, if Loudness Equalization is enabled in audio enhancements.

    1. Is the issue specific to YouTube application?
    2. Since when are you facing this issue?

I suggest you to follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
Disable the Loudness Equalization from audio enhancements settings.

    1. Right-click on the volume icon on the taskbar.
    2. Select Sounds option from the list.
    3. Click on the Playback tab.
    4. Now right-click on the Speakers and select
      Properties from the list.
    5. Click on the Enhancements tab.
    6. Uncheck Loudness Equalization option.

Also, change the option under communication tab from sound settings. Follow steps mentioned below:

    1. Right-click on the volume icon on the taskbar.
    2. Select ‘Sounds’ option from the list.
    3. Now click on the ‘Communications’ tab.
    4. Select ‘Do nothing’ options from the list.

Method 2: If you still face the issue, we can try running the
Audio Troubleshooter. Follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Tap on ‘Windows + I’ on the keyboard.
    2. Click on ‘Update & Security’ option.
    3. Select ‘Troubleshoot’ option.
    4. Now click on the ‘Playing Audio’ from the list and ‘Run the troubleshooter’.

    Hope it helps.
