Windows 10: Having an issue with audio output

Hey all,

I just got a new gaming rig and I'm having a lot of audio issues with windows 10 that weren't present on my old Asus ROG laptop-

If I start the PC, I have no sound at all. It will only start outputting the sound to my monitor (Acer VG270U P) if I do a restart. This is plugged in via DP to my Nvidia RTX2060, so using the nvidia HD drivers.

If I plug in a headset to the front panel of my pc (controlled by RealTek HD audio) I have to go to sound settings and force the output to the headphones in both windows AND skype, it literally won't auto change, even though the realtek dialogue pops up and tells me that it's switched.

If I set the default output to the headset in the windows dialogue, I'll get sound through them as normal, but when I unplug them, the sound won't switch back to my monitor speakers.
and vice versa - if I set the default to the headset, I won't get audio when I plug them in unless I go through the sound settings.

It's becoming a little annoying, as I need to switch outputs during the day due to children being around and working/gaming etc.

Is there a simple setting that I'm missing somewhere or is there a separate utility that I need to install to manage the default sounds, considering that they use two completely different drivers?
Fast-boot is off, as I know that can sometimes cause issues!

Audio Input/Output Issues

Hey all!

Today is the 2nd day with my new computer that I built and I am having some issues with audio. I am running a gigabyte motherboard- which is great btw. BUT, I have 2 separate outputs for a microphone and audio. Is it possible that I can use my earbuds/headphones that have a mic on them? I don't know if I can set that up or if the microphone data can be run through the audio line. Anybody have any programs/suggestions?

Help much appreciated!
