Having Audio enabled on Windows 10 makes my whole pc flop, help needed

hello! im someone who doesn't know much about computers, and have no clue what to do about this because this is probably the most outlandish problem iv ever had considering a computer. and i really need help considering i couldnt be confused.

Last night my pc started going crazy trying to run a single program, freezing like wild and could barley even close a program. I gave up, turned it off, and let it rest for about 15 hours until i turned it on again. But when i did the oddest problem arrived. No matter what video i played, that being on youtube, my own pc, or any website. It would take AGES to load. The images on websites would take forever aswell i felt like i was using something that had been over 10 years old. And ontop of that, the audio didn't work either! no audio comes through my headphones even though everything external works fine. But thankfully! I found the issue! And boy is it confusing.

When going to hardware and sound of the control panel and clicking sound, it brings up a list of audio connections on my pc. The ones I use being connected and enabled. When i disable them, everything works perfectly. Videos load instantly without a buffer or pixelation, websites open up within a second and so do programs within my pc. I tried everything online there is *surrounding* this problem. But i feel like no one has ever had this problem specifically and i really need help on to how to fix it. I'v basically restarted, uninstalled, stopped, and started every single thing connecting to audio with every tutorial on the internet but nothing seems to work. any tips or help would be greatly appreciated and any further explanation i will be more than happy to give if you need it. from the bottom of my heart if you try to help, thank you!

  2. Re-enable audio device

    Hi,

I would be happy to assist you.

Before we proceed with troubleshooting, I would need little information on the issue.

    • Are using speakers / head phones to listen to audio?
If you have disabled the audio device, then you might not see it under the list of playback devices. I would suggest you to follow these steps to make sure you see the disabled devices:

      • Open
        Control panel
        .

      • Click Hardware and Sound and then Click on
        Sounds.

      • Under Playback tab, right click on the empty area and make sure
“Show Disabled Devices” has a check mark on it. If headphones/Speakers are disabled, it will now show up in the list.

      • Right click on the device and
        Enable it. Click OK.
If the issue still persists, try enabling speakers automatically using steps below.

    • Go to Settings> Click on themes> Advance sound settings> right click on the speakers or the audio device youo have connected > click on
      Configure device.

    • Test the sound level you want, click Next.

    • And configure the audio devices.

Hope this helps you. Do reply if you need further assistance on Windows 10.

    Thank you.
