Windows 10: Having issues with windows 11 Microsoft Security Defender not opening

So after countless issues I had with Microsoft Security Defender Center not opening, windows updates not giving me all the updates, and so many more issues I had with windows 11, I was about to call it quits. I tried everything, from PowerShell/CMD commands, trying to fix any registry issues, to installing software to try and fix the issue, to fresh clean installs of windows 11 ect ect. No matter what I did I couldn't get windows security to open up. It was like it was never installed or something. So I found a fix that helped me. It helped me get all the windows updates I never got or was get

Windows 10 Windows Defender versus Microsoft Security Essentials

Hi Bryan,

Microsoft Security Essentials was upgraded to Windows defender and it was a default security software from Windows 8. You cannot have both as they are one.

Since you get this annoying popup at the startup i suggest you to disable any Microsoft Security Essentials entries in Startup tab.

• Open the Task manager. by pressing Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
• click on Startup tab
• Right click on Microsoft Security Essentials entry and click on Disable.

Restart the computer and check if that helps.

 

My Windows Defender Can't Work it say "Security at a Glance"

This seems very promising. Microsoft is in the unique position to know what Windows should look like, even before Windows Update pushes out new changes. As long as MS can properly sync WD with WU changes AND this new features does not make any "noticeable" hit on system performance/resources, all without any false positives, this should be a big step forward for consumer security, and a blow to the bad guys - always a good thing.

Of course, there will likely be some hiccups the Windows/Microsoft/Windows Defender bashers will surely pounce on - regardless how extensive the Beta process is. But hopefully open and unbiased minds will prevail. After all, the goal is to stop the bad guys and if this gets us closer to that, that's a very good thing.
