  1. Having major performance issues, after my pc randomly factory reset itself and going back...

This has been going on for 2-3 days now, and more or less started when my computer suddenly froze up. After I restarted it, all of my files including my desktop wallpaper had been deleted almost as if it had been through a factory reset, after I restarted my pc, all my files went back to normal, though it has been unfathomably slow ever since With my RAM clocking in up 65-75 even with no applications open. Other issues such as my laptop refusing to charge and even refusing to function without it and a black screen with a separate windows loading screen appearing when I load onto my deskt

    :)

    How to perform Factory Reset?

    Hi Saif,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. I understand that you want to know how to perform Factory Reset. I will surely help you with this.

To understand the issue better, I would need more information from your end.

    • What is the make and model of the computer?
    • How are you trying to perform Factory Reset?
    • Are you facing any issue on the computer, due to which you are performing Factory Reset?

To perform Factory Reset, you need a recovery partition or Recovery Disk from the computer manufacturer. You may contact the computer manufacturer and check the same with them.

    Warning:
Be sure to back up all the data you want to keep, before you begin. Resetting using Factory Reset will delete all the data.

Hope this information helps. Reply to the post if you need further information on this issue.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.

First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

    Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".
