Windows 10: Having minor issues after renaming pc account user username.

So i followed a guide on google to rename my main account username because when i setup pc my mail is *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and microsoft literally used insan as the username which i never wanted so i changed the ProfileImagePath regedit to the new username changed the C:/Users/insan to new name which was samarth and everything worked fine and i was able to change it and even the cmd was now showing samarth as the new name but some apps were not found as they were still somehow using the path Users/insan so i again searched google for Windows 11 specific any other setup's and found out that

  Are you using a Microsoft account or local account?
  

If you are using local account, I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the user name.

Please follow the steps to rename the user account in Windows 10.

a. In the search box, type user accounts and click on User Accounts.

b. Click on “Change your account name”

c. If it’s prompting for password please enter and click on Yes. If you do not have password click on Yes.

d. Enter the new user name.

e. Click on change name.

Having trouble renaming my username

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I've already attempted the tutorial in the provided link, but am still receiving the old username when typing "echo %username%" in command prompt.

Here's my Users folder under C: drive




And my registry edit for my username's corresponding SID




I also noticed while going through the tutorial again that the command "wmic useraccount get name,SID" also yielded the old username "patri"

 

Having trouble renaming my username

A few questions before I use this program:

• Is there any risk of losing data while transferring it from one profile to another? I only need to transfer C drive but will I need to backup both C and D drive?
• If I do need to backup my drives, what would be the most economic method, both in terms of price and drive space (both of my hard drives are already almost full)?
• Is there any risk of losing certain customizations, configurations, or even apps? As I've mentioned before simply renaming my user profile folder caused me to have to reinstall a few apps.
